Cornerstone laid for Mona Plaza hotel
BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali and the owners of the Serbian clothing maker Mona on Thursday laid a cornerstone for the new 30 mln euro Mona Plaza Hotel.
Once complete, the hotel, to be situated in Belgrade's Dorcol district, is expected to hire 200 people.

9th Mikser Festival opens
BELGRADE - The 9th Mikser Festival, held under the slogan Migration, kicked off on Thursday evening in the former Zitomlin grain silos in Belgrade's Lower Dorcol district, bringing together many top names in architecture, design, urban development and planning, as well as experts in new technologies, committed artists and musicians from the region and around the world.

Svetlana Velmar-Jankovic dies
BELGRADE - Writer Svetlana Velmar-Jankovic died in Belgrade, her family and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) released on Wednesday.
Velmar-Jankovic was a regular member of SANU.
She was born in Belgrade on February 1, 1933. She studied French literature.
