The Onassis Cultural Center presents a fascinating and thought-provoking exhibition on the evolution of our understanding of data, space and cities from the 1960s to the present, starting off with an exploration of the work of celebrated Greek architect and city planner Apostolos Doxiadis and his early use of computers.
The Greek contribution to Skopje's modern identity
I first visited Skopje in 1997 to attend a peace concert by Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis. It had all the elements to become a charming city with a strong modernist identity, expanding on the reconstruction that was carried out with the help of Greek architect Constantinos Doxiadis after the devastating earthquake in 1963.

Doxiadis in Skopje | Athens | To February 17
"The Future as a Project," at the Benaki Museum's Pireos Street annex, explores the contribution of celebrated Greek architect Constantinos Doxiadis (1913-1975) in the effort to rebuild a rebrand Skopje after the capital of what is now the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia was razed by an earthquake in 1963.
