Dry January seems to be the buzzing trend nowadays. Abstaining from alcohol for the whole month of January appeals to many, especially to those who overdid the feasting and boozing during the festive season before New Year's. Dry January, as a term, was registered in 2014 in the United Kingdom by Alcohol Concern, an advocacy group that initiated the first campaign in January 2013.

Four Die after Drinking Fake Alcohol in Southern Bulgaria

Four young men have died and other two are in critical conditions after drinking counterfeit alcohol during celebrations, media outlets report.

Police and doctors confirm alcohol poisoning was the most likely cause of the incident which took place in a neighborhood of Yakoruda, a town in the Rhodope Mountains.

Extended seasonal shopping times at the end of 2015

Shops are open on the last Sunday of the year from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on December 27. Some department stores plan to stay open until 8 p.m.

From Monday, December 28, through to Wednesday, December 30, shops will open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for extended seasonal shopping, whereas on Thursday, December 31, shops will close at 6 p.m.

Bootleg alcohol death toll rises to eight in ?zmir

The number of people who have died from bootleg alcohol poisoning in Turkey's Aegean province of ?zmir has risen to eight.

The eight people who have died so far from counterfeit rak? in ?zmir were identified as Seçgin Dengiz, Ali Ulutürk, Alem Pena Çandar, Ömer Akgün Yüngeli?, Özkan Yaman, Köksal Çetin, Birol Bacakl? and Cesur Artan.

Death toll rises to 28 from bootleg alcohol in Istanbul

The death toll from bootleg alcohol in Istanbul has risen to 28 after forensic examinations have revealed another five deaths caused by alcohol poisoning, Do?an News Agency has reported.

Five "suspicious" cases have been found to be caused by methyl-alcohol poisoning, bringing the initial death toll in the crisis to 28, according to examinations at a forensic medicine institution.
