The European Parliament has taken a significant step forward in reshaping driving regulations across the EU by adopting new rules at their first reading. These changes aim to modernize the driving experience and enhance safety standards for motorists throughout Europe.

In a disconcerting trend, the rise of so called "joker companies" offering a driver's license faster, cheaper, and without the hassle of tests has evolved into a burgeoning sector.

These entities, which promise a shortcut to licensure, raise significant concerns as they potentially compromise road safety standards.

The Ministry of Transport has given the green light for driving tests to resume on June 1, stressing that health safety measures will be applied to protect candidates and examiners from the coronavirus.

Driving instructors from across the country with more than 400 cars joined a protest on January 14 in the centre of Sofia against a plan for new rules for conducting driver training courses. 

From midday they blocked the traffic on Tsar Osvoboditel bulevrad in the section between Rakovski street and Dondukov boulevard.

Higher fees for driving courses are foreseen by the industry, reported bulnews.bg
