Exports of medical cannabis forseen in new bill

A bill that seeks to reform the framework for the production and export of medical cannabis was presented to the cabinet on Thursday by Development Minister Adonis Georgiadis.

The bill facilitates the export of medical cannabis products, adhering to the same procedures that apply to generic medicinal products produced in Greece.

Over 7 kg of meth seized in anti-drug operation

Turkish police on March 20 seized nearly 8 kilograms (about 17 pounds) of methamphetamine from a truck in eastern Van province, the provincial police headquarters said in a statement.

The drugs were seized in Van's Edremit district after anti-drug teams stopped the vehicle and detained the driver in a sniffer dog-aided operation, the statement said.

Drug dealers caught outside downtown Athens university

Two foreign nationals, aged 27 and 31, who were arrested outside the Athens University of Economics and Business on Saturday in possession of a range of narcotics, were to face an Athens prosecutor on Wednesday on drug dealing charges.

Officers seized from the suspects 10 grams of heroin, 2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 3.5 grams of cannabis and dozens of pills.

Two police officers arrested on drug dealing charges

Two Attica police officers have been suspended from the service following their arrest on Saturday, allowing with a civilian, on drug dealing charges. 

The arrests followed an investigation which revealed that the pair had been procuring quantities of cocaine, allegedly for their personal use as well as small-scale distribution.

The Interior Ministry monitors the internet to restrict the virtual sale of drugs, Interior Minister Mladen Marinov said. Marinov took part in Friday's parliamentary scrutiny, where he explained to lawmakers how his department handles increased drug distribution online.

Six Foreign Nationals Arrested for Drug Trafficking in Bali

Indonesian authorities say they have arrested six foreigners accused of trying to smuggle drugs into the tourist island of Bali, the Associated Press reported.

A Swiss, Thai, Singaporean, Chilean, and two Hong Kong men dressed in orange prison clothing were brought with their hands and feet at a press conference in the provincial capital of Bali Denpasar.
