WHO revises Covid-19 vaccine recommendations for Omicron-era
The World Health Organization has tailored its Covid-19 vaccination recommendations for a new phase of the pandemic, suggesting that healthy children and adolescents may not necessarily need a shot but older, high-risk groups should get a booster between 6 to 12 months after their last vaccine.

All hormonal contraceptives carry a slightly increased risk of breast cancer, including the increasingly popular progestogen-only pills, according to a study published on March 21.
Cannabis haul in Igoumenitsa
Two people were arrested in the town of Igoumenitsa, Western Greece for the possession of 67 kilograms of raw cannabis contained in packages in their car.
They were nabbed on Sunday after police officers spotted what they deemed to be a suspicious car in the town and hailed it down for an inspection.
They found 45 packages of raw cannabis, weighing a total of 66.98 kilograms.

An unexpected visit
Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou participated in the action of the Streetwork group of the Organization Against Drugs (OKANA) in central Athens on Monday. The team distributed safer use kits to drug users on the street as well as a Covid-19 personal protection kit, a snack and clothing.

Albanian, Italian Authorities Conclude Operation Against Drug Gang
Albania's Special Prosecution, SPAK, in collaboration with Bergamo prosecutors in Italy have announced the conclusion of an operation that resulted in the seizure of large amounts of drugs in Italy.
The criminal group responsible for the drug-running was led by three Albanians, according to the special prosecutor. Twenty other persons face trial as part of this criminal group.
Cocaine worth €5 million seized at Piraeus port
Some 119 kilos of cocaine with a street value of more than 5 million euros was found and seized from a container from Ecuador that docked at the port of Piraeus by auditors of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue following an investigation at the port.

For the period from 02.08.2022 to the beginning of January 2023, 657,762 doses of the Comirnaty vaccine and 271,910 doses of the Spikevax vaccine expired. This was reported by the Acting Health Minister Asen Medzhidiev in response to a parliamentary question.
