In a concerted effort to combat drug distribution networks, Albanian police launched a large-scale operation named "Tempuli," resulting in the arrest of nearly 100 individuals in the capital of Tirana alone and over 150 across the entire country.

Albania and Greece will connect with a railway line by building a route from Lerin via Kostur to Pazardzhik. The project will be funded by Interreg-IPA CBS Greece-Albania, reports Darik. 
 
At a meeting in Kostur dedicated to the rail link between the two countries, it was emphasized that the project would be part of the trans-European network.
 

Albania's National Council of Archaeology, headed by the Minister of Culture, is expected to rule on the fate of a 6-million-euro project to renovate and decorate an area around the Venetian Tower, which forms part of the city's ancient walls.

Foreign ministers of Western Balkan countries met on Wednesday in Durres, Albania, with EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn to discuss joint infrastructural projects financed by the EU.

The Durres meeting was the fourth such meeting of Western Balkan ministers in the so-called Berlin Process, a five-year process started in August 2014 marked by yearly summits.

Albanian officials say the highway that will connect the Adriatic with the Ionian sea is one of the most important regional infrastructural projects that it is putting into effect.
