4.6 magnitude quake rattles Rhodes

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake rattled the island of Rhodes in the eastern Aegean early Friday morning. No injuries or damages were reported. 

The tremor occurred at 6.27 a.m., 16 km northeast of the city of Rhodes. The estimated depth was 45 km. 

Such magnitude earthquakes are quite common in Greece, which lies close to where Eurasian and African continental plates collide.

New earthquake hits Croatia

The epicenter of the earthquake, which was registered at 5:07 a.m., was in the area of Metkovi, 5 kilometers southwest of Neum, at a depth of 6 kilometers, the EMSC announced.
Yesterday, the Seismological Service of Croatia recorded a weak earthquake of magnitude 2.6 on the Richter scale in the sea off the coast of Peljeac, southeast of uljan.
