Minor quakes rattle the Corinthian Gulf

A 3.9 magnitude earthquake occurred at 12.59 p.m. on Sunday in the Corinthian Gulf, with an epicenter 13 km north-northeast of Xylokastro, at a focal depth of 14.2 km.

Two other earthquakes of magnitudes 2.3 and 2.4 preceded in the same area.

According to seismology professor Gerasimos Papadopoulos, this is a series of earthquakes, with little chance of a larger earthquake.

Two tremors recorded off Kassos

Two earthquakes measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale were recorded on Thursday off the island of Kassos, the Athens National Observatory's Geodynamics Institute said.

The tremors were recorded at 10.18 a.m. and 10.24 a.m.

The first quake's epicentre was located in the sea region 28km west-southwest of the island, while the second was located 29km west-southwest of Kassos.

Two new earthquakes were felt in the Simitli region, reported the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography to the Bulgarian Academy of Science.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.5 on the Richter scale was registered last night in the Simitli region.
