5.5 Magnitude Earthquake in Venezuela

A 5.5 magnitude earthquake occurred 18 kilometres from the city of Araya, near the coast of Venezuela. No injuries or damages were reported as a result of the quake.

Shock waves were observed at a depth of just 5.9 kilometres in the sea, more than 200 kilometres from the capital of the Latin American state of Caracas.

An earthquake with a 4.7 magnitude on the Richter scale has been registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The earthquake occurred at 15:01 local time with an epicentre 6 km north of Mramor and 89 km north of the capital Sarajevo, 10 km deep, according to the European Seismological Centre.

A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck on Monday (Nov 13) off the east coast of northern Japan at 6.24am (Singapore time), according to the US Geological Survey (USGS), quoted by channelnewsasia.com

The quake hit 294km southeast of the city of Kamaishi at a depth of 9.5km.

USGS had initally recorded a magnitude of 6.1, but later downgraded it to 5.8.
