Young icon of Palestinian resistance arrives in Turkey

A 16-year-old Palestinian at the center of a powerful photograph in which he is seen blindfolded and detained by a dozen heavily armed Israeli soldiers late last year during Palestinian opposition against a U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital left the West Bank and arrived in Turkey on Jan. 16 upon an invitation.

Palestinian Envoy Sent Back to Washington

The Palestinian envoy to the United States says he is returning to Washington after just one day of "consultations" over President Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, according to BBC. 

Husam Zomlot said he met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas privately.

He was instructed to return to Washington "immediately", he said.

U.N. to Vote Monday on Call for U.S. Jerusalem Decision to be Withdrawn

The United Nations Security Council is due to vote on Monday on a draft resolution calling for the withdrawal of U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, diplomats said, a move likely to face a Washington veto, Reuters reported.
