Britain's easyJet said on Sunday it was operating flights as normal to Rhodes but was closely monitoring the wildfires on the Greek island.

"We advise customers travelling to and from Rhodes to check the status of their flights on Flight Tracker," it said in a statement.

Greece is showing remarkable resilience as a tourism destination for Britons, according to the head of easyJet holidays, which serves only UK customers to sell Mediterranean beach and city break packages.

In a few days, SKY express will strengthen its fleet with a new Airbus A320neo. The airline, which during the pandemic renewed its fleet with new aircraft and "opened" its activity abroad, is launching in 2023 the acquisition of two more A321 type aircraft.

A group of European airlines agreed to refund passengers whose flights were cancelled during the COVID-19 pandemic, and committed to provide better information on passengers' rights in future.

In August, the low-cost airline EasyJet will serve 30 countries. There is a dropout of three countries compared to the same month in 2019 - Estonia, Finland, Norway and Slovenia will no longer be served, although all of them except Norway will "return" in September-November.

Britain will confirm in early May whether it will allow international travel to resume from May 17 and which countries will fall into the red, amber or green categories in a traffic light system based on COVID-19 risks.

British travel company easyJet Holidays is aiming to bring about 1 million tourists to Turkey this summer, its CEO has said.

"easyJet offers 18 routes between the United Kingdom and Turkey. As the travel restrictions are lifted, we are hoping to fly to the country with 1 million seats. Turkey has been one of the best-selling destinations during the pandemic," said Garry Wilson.

Britons eager to travel amid promising vaccination efforts against the coronavirus are expected to visit one of their favorite destinations - Turkey. 

"Last year, Turkey's tourism sector saw a fall in tourist demand from the EU, but the UK remained out of this picture," Firuz Bağlıkaya, the head of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), said Monday.

Ljubljana – Budget carrier EasyJet has decided to end its Ljubljana-Berlin service, the second route it has terminated out of the Slovenian capital after it shut its base in London Stansted, the aviation portal Ex-Yu Aviation reported.
