People around the world are uniting in a prayer for rain in Australia to help put out fires. So far, the fires have killed 19 people and 39 others were injured, TASS reported. Shocking videos of fires are shared on social networks.

The fire started from dry grasses, but because of the strong winds, it has spread to a pine forest.

The number of wildfires in the Amazon jungle continues to grow, although the government has introduced a ban on fire making for farmland cleaning, AFP reported.

In the first 48 hours after the ban was introduced, data from the satellite of the National Space Research Institute showed 3859 new outbreaks, of which 2000 were concentrated in the rain forest area.

Greek authorities evacuated two villages in southern Corfu on Tuesday, as a wildfire was approaching houses, state-run news agency ANA-MPA reported.

High temperatures, extreme drought and the human factor are the three main causes of wildfires, Chief Commissioner Nikolay Nikolov, Director of Fire Safety and Civil Protection, said at a press briefing, Focus News Agency reported.
