Energoprojekt "could become Belgrade Waterfront contractor"

BELGRADE -- Serbia's construction industry giant Energoprojekt "could become the main contractor for the Belgrade Waterfront buildings that will be built first."

According to the Vecernje Novosti daily, "it will be known early next month if the price determined by the domestic builders will suit the investors."

Opposition: Belgrade Waterfront is "scam of century"

BELGRADE -- Councilor Balsa Bozovic thinks that the recently signed contract for Belgrade Waterfront shows the project is "the scam of the century."

Several hundred people gathered across from the Geozavod building in Belgrade, in a vain bid to stop the Serbian government from signing a multimillion deal with Abu Dhabi-based Eagle Hills to transform Sava riverbank into a huge new complex known as Belgrade Waterfront.  

UAE partner to own 68 percent stake in Belgrade Waterfront

BELGRADE -- Under the Belgrade Waterfront project construction contract, signed on Sunday, the Republic of Serbia will own 32 percent of equity.

68 percent to be owned by a United Arab Emirates-based partner.

BELGRADE - Two groups of citizens gathered on Sunday outside the Belgrade Cooperative building - where the Belgrade Waterfront project contract had been signed earlier in the day - with one group protesting against the signing of the contract and the other backing it.

BELGRADE - The contract on joint investments in the Belgrade Waterfront project, worth around EUR 3.5 billion, was signed in Belgrade on Sunday, and is expected to provide a significant boost to the Serbian economy, engage the construction industry and ensure new jobs.

BELGRADE - The International Horticulture Fair Beoplantfair has opened in Belgrade on Thursday, and the exhibition of medicinal plants and honey-derived products "Gifts of Nature" is being traditionally held alongside it.

As was the case two years ago, Belgrade Fair is also hosting MotoPlantExpo, the exhibition of garden and park machinery and accompanying equipment.

BELGRADE - A contract on the Belgrade Waterfront project will be signed with the Arab partner on Sunday, Mayor Sinisa Mali said on Thursday.

At a panel titled "City Infrastructure and Urban Development" held as part of the Capital Summit 2015, Mali said that this project is worth EUR 3.5 billion.

Belgrade Waterfront lex specialis passes in parliament

BELGRADE -- The Serbian parliament has adopted a special law (lex specialis) for the Belgrade Waterfront project.
