Bulgaria's Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) has acquired all assets of Credit Agricole Bulgaria, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) announced Wednesday.
A deal worth BGN 92 M, which enables KTB to purchase Credit Agricole's Bulgarian unit, has been approved by the Bank Oversight department at the BNB, Bulgaria's bTV channel reported.
The savings deposits of Bulgarian households reached BGN 40.3 B in the end of Q1 2014, shows data of the central bank (BNB).
In the same period the total sum increased by BGN 1 B, half of which was from the interest rates.
The sum of the households' savings is nearly half of Bulgaria's GDP, which this year is supposed to be BGN 81.6 B.
The Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) celebrated its 100th anniversary on Tuesday.
On April 15, 1914, the BSE was created through a decree of Tsar Ferdinand, investor.bg reports.
"According to the decree, the first real joint stock company was created in 1862,' said Rumen Sokolov from BSE-Sofia in an interview for Bulgaria On Air TV
Bulgarian Labor Minister Hasan Ademov has said that the relative share of the working poor in Bulgaria has amounted to 7-8% over the past few years, following EU statistics.
Ademov participated Friday in an international conference on the working poor held under the aegis of the European Works Council.
The alternative rock singer Tori Amos will perform in Sofia, Bulgaria, on June 20.
