Inflation to contract during August: Erdoğan
Turkey's headline inflation rate, which reached 18.95 percent in July, will decrease gradually in the rest of the year, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said.

"We will see a contraction in the inflation rate during August," Erdoğan said on a live broadcast of a private channel late on Aug. 4.

Turkey's central government gross debt stock at $234 bln
The Turkish central government's gross debt stock totaled 2.02 trillion Turkish liras (around $234.3 billion) at the end of June, according to official figures released on July 26.
The gross debt stock includes the outstanding debt of public sector institutions, the Central Bank, private companies, and households.
Stock market sees $700 bln transaction volume in first quarter
Turkey's stock market saw a transaction volume of 5.18 trillion Turkish liras (around $700 billion) in the first quarter of this year, according to fresh data revealed by the Turkish Capital Markets Association (TCMA).
According to the association's figures on July 24, the trading volume increased by 2.5 times year-on-year in the January-March period.
New printings of Turkish lira banknotes set for release
