Greek Archbishop rejects invite by Patriarch of Jerusalem

Greek Archbishop Ieronymos informed the Holy Synod on Friday that he has refused an invitation from Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem to attend a meeting of Orthodox leaders.
According to a statement issued by the Holy Synod, Ieronymos refused the invite because the calling of such meetings of Orthodox leaders is the sole privilege of the ecumenical patriarch based in Istanbul.

Vartholomaios, Imamoglu meet in Istanbul

Order of Saint Andrew congratulates Archbishop-elect Elpidophoros

The Order of Saint Andrew congratulated Metropolitan Elpidophoros of Bursa for his appointment as Archbishop of America in a letter published on Saturday.

The head of the Order, Dr. Anthony J. Limberakis, expressed its "tremendous joy and satisfaction" for his election and pledged to support and promote his goals and programs.

ND leader in Istanbul on Thursday for private visit

New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis is visiting Istanbul on Thursday as part of a private visit to attend a service at the Church of St. George at the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the party said in a press release.
On the occasion of his visit, Mitsotakis will meet with the Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomeos.
