Turkey's gate to Europe seeks share of border trade
Edirne might be home to the world's second busiest border gate, but the northwestern Turkish city feels it does not see a fair share of the benefits of cross-border trade activities, according to the local mayor.
"As people who are carrying the burden of living on the border, we would like to see more benefits," said Mayor Recep Gürkan.

Turkey's first electric car finalizes Balkan tour
Turkey's first electric car, the Pehlivan Elektrak developed by Trakya University, has returned to the country after a two-week trip around the Balkan Peninsula.
The fiber carbon car visited Greece, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina during the 14-day tour.

No alcohol to be allowed in New Year gift baskets in Turkey

Syrian migrants flock to Istanbul bus station in attempt to reach Greece
Hundreds of Syrian migrants have flocked to Istanbul's largest bus station to board a bus to northwestern Edirne province near the Greek border in an attempt to cross into Europe.
Migrants began arriving at the station in Istanbul's Bayrampa?a district on Sept.15 and have been waiting since as bus companies departing for Thrace refuse to transport them.
