Australia to Fund Great Barrier Reef Restoration and Protection
BBC - Australia has pledged A$500 million (£275m; $379m) to protect the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef.

Climate change: Himalayas melting more slowly than expected
Asia’s glaciers are holding out against global warming and are melting more slowly than expected. Extensive studies, carried out with satellites, have shown that the rise in surface temperature of the planet has not yet caused the feared effects on the Himalayan chain.
2017 is so Far the 2nd-Hottest Year on Record Thanks to Global Warming
With the first six months of 2017 in the books, average global surface temperatures so far this year are 0.94°C above the 1950-1980 average, according to NASA. That makes 2017 the second-hottest first six calendar months on record, behind only 2016, The Guardian reported.
