Unfair Import of Millions of Eggs from Ukraine: Bulgarian Producers

2.5 million eggs have imported from Ukraine to Bulgaria under a partnership program, the chairman of the Union of Poultry Breeders, Ivaylo Galabov, has told BNR. He expressed fears that by Easter the import will exceed 10 million and the eggs will be rebranded as Bulgarian. The union will signal the Food Safety Agency to investigate the case of origin manipulation.

Hen egg production up in November

Turkey's hen egg production increased by 1.2 percent to 1.69 billion units in November 2019 on a yearly basis, Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) revealed on Jan. 13.

The hen egg production increased by 1.3 percent to reach 18.15 billion units during the first 11 months of 2019, TÜİK data showed.
