New Parliament sworn in; to be dissolved almost immediately
The 300 MPs elected on May 21 were sworn in Sunday afternoon.
The new Parliament, in which no party achieved an overall majority, will elect a Speaker and deputy speakers Monday. It will then be dissolved by presidential decree, either Monday or Tuesday, and new elections proclaimed, for June 25.

The national election on May 21 showed that Greek public opinion has begun to vote based on political parties' programs and positions. Not based on slogans and generalities.
The people now act as "consumers," not blind followers. The parties in power will have to adapt to this new reality if they want to continue to be seen as contenders for power.

Second Greek election will be held under different electoral system
National elections on June 25 in Greece will be held under the system of "reinforced" proportional representation, which differs from proportional representation that the May 21 national ballot was held under, in that it allocates bonus seats in Parliament.
Voting for the presidential runoff election ends
Millions of Turkish citizens on May 28 headed to ballot boxes established across the country to cast their votes in the presidential election runoff.
The country has witnessed the first runoff election since the new presidential system was accepted in 2018.

Expatriates show higher turnout in runoff
The number of votes cast in the ballot boxes set up abroad for the presidential election runoff has already surpassed the first round's figures, though the voting continues at the customs gates till May 28, when the runoff will take place at home.

Voting ends in overseas representations
Voting ended at the diplomatic missions abroad on May 24 for the presidential election runoff, slated for May 28 at home, while citizens abroad can still cast their votes at border gates.
The Supreme Election Council (YSK) has reinstalled ballot boxes at 167 points in 151 representative offices across 73 countries for the runoff election.

70-year-old sentenced for sexually harassing teen in polling station
A 70-year-old man has received a suspended six-month sentence for sexually harassing a 19-year-old soldier at a polling station in the northern Greek town of Thessaloniki on Sunday morning.
The misdemeanor court found him guilty of sexual indecency but accepted his clean record as a mitigating factor.
Mitsotakis: Victory over populism serves as lesson for liberal democracies
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis insisted Tuesday that Greece will be able to regain investment grade with a strong New Democracy government and that his "his victory over populism in Greece" serves as a lesson "for other liberal democracies."

Number of volunteer observers triples in election runoff
The number of applications to volunteer as observers in the presidential election runoff on May 28 has exceeded 200,000, tripling the figure seen two weeks ago, a volunteer organization of election monitoring has said.
Crete: Returning officer goes missing along with bag of votes
Authorities on Crete have said that the returning officer from one polling station is missing, along with the bag containing the votes cast.
The officer was assigned to the 198th polling station, which was based at the 13th Primary School in Iraklio, the island's biggest city.
