We will emerge victorious in election, achieve historic success: Erdoğan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on May 15 that his alliance will emerge victorious in the May 28 runoff election and achieve historic success.

"The May 14 elections, one of the elections with the highest participation in our history, took place in a festive atmosphere befitting our democracy, with the prudence and foresight of our beloved nation," Erdoğan said.

Country records high turnout in presidential, parliamentary elections

Türkiye's historic presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14 witnessed a high voter turnout at 86.2 percent.

The figure was barely below the 88.2 percent turnout in 2018 when Turkish voters headed to ballot boxes to elect the president and members of the parliament.

Three people die of heart attack during polls

Three people died of a heart attack at separate polling stations during the presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14.

In the Black Sea province of Rize, 64-year-old Şeref Kurt was on duty at one of the polling stations set up at a school where he also voted.

He suddenly collapsed at the polling booth around 9 a.m.
