Electricity Theft Is Common Crime in Bulgaria

Last year, the three power distributors managed to bill stolen electricity and found out it was as much as the entire Bulgaria consumes in 16 hours.

The amount equals almost 55 gigawatt/hours. According to data of the National Statistical Institute for 2020, the net average daily electricity consumption was 83.57 GW/h.

Energy regulator ANRE: It is illegal to force suppliers to deliver energy at lowest price

PPC pushes back bids deadline for DEDDIE

Greece's biggest electricity utility, Public Power Corporation (PPC), has pushed back the deadline for the expression of interest for a majority stake in the country's sole grid operator DEDDIE, it said on Friday.

PPC, which is 51% owned by the state, had set January 29 as the deadline for the submission of non-binding bids for DEDDIE.

The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has extended until March 31, 2021 the deadline until which household consumers can conclude energy supply contracts on the competitive market, ANRE vice president Zoltan Nagy-Bege told AGERPRES on Monday.
