Country records high turnout in presidential, parliamentary elections
Türkiye's historic presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14 witnessed a high voter turnout at 86.2 percent.
The figure was barely below the 88.2 percent turnout in 2018 when Turkish voters headed to ballot boxes to elect the president and members of the parliament.
Greek expatriates to cast votes abroad ahead of May 21 elections
A total of 22,816 Greeks residing abroad will participate in voting on May 20, one day prior to the general elections scheduled for May 21.
Over 53 mln dropped votes in nearly 200,000 ballot boxes
Over 53 million people on May 14 dropped their votes in more than 190,000 ballot boxes set up across the country for the elections.
The number of voters imprisoned and convicted of negligent crimes was over 50,000.
Voting process concludes smoothly: YSK president
Supreme Election Board (YSK) President Ahmet Yener has announced that the voting process of the landmark 2023 presidential and parliamentary elections has concluded smoothly.
He also extended his condolences to the families of the three people who died of a heart attack during the voting process.

Three people die of heart attack during polls
Three people died of a heart attack at separate polling stations during the presidential and parliamentary elections on May 14.
In the Black Sea province of Rize, 64-year-old Şeref Kurt was on duty at one of the polling stations set up at a school where he also voted.
He suddenly collapsed at the polling booth around 9 a.m.

‘Diplomatic couriers’ bring overseas votes home
As voting ends at the foreign representative offices abroad on May 9 for Türkiye's upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for May 14, "diplomatic couriers" has begun to bring overseas votes back to Türkiye.
Following the ballot boxes' closure, the ballot papers were sealed and put in sacks under the supervision of a committee and observers.

Voting ends at the diplomatic missions abroad on May 9 for Türkiye's upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for May 14 at home, while citizens abroad can still cast votes at border gates.
Polling stations were closed in most European countries yesterday. However, voting will continue in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany and Luxembourg until late May 9.

Nearly 500,000 Turks living abroad cast vote
More than 500,000 Turkish citizens living abroad have cast their ballots in the elections scheduled for May 14 at home in four days, according to the ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) representative to the Supreme Election Council (YSK).
