Release Athens 2024 welcomes Thievery Corporation and Black Pumas on July 9, at Water Square (Plateia Nero, 2616 Posidonos), in a day dedicated to the sounds of downtempo/dub/electronica and soul. Much loved in Greece, Thievery Corporation and newcomers Black Pumas promise one of this year's most significant and dance-worthy shows.

Electronica duo Robin Stewart and Harry Wright of Giant Swan fame are returning to Athens - where they enjoy an avid following - bringing their hypnotic techno beat to Bios' Romantso venue. Innovative Greek trip-hop, downtempo and freestyle DJ and composer Giorgos Bratanis, aka Cayetano, will perform at the Zappeion Hall in the heart of Athens, accompanied by Nikos Bartzokas on percussion and Resoloot on electric guitar, on Friday, January 31, as part of the St Paul's Sessions series of live events organized by Groove Productions.

Innovative Greek trip-hop, downtempo and freestyle DJ and composer Giorgos Bratanis, aka Cayetano, returns to the St Paul's Sessions roster of pioneering musicians with a new project that will be presented to the public for the first time, hot on the heels of his last studio release, "Melanie." Cayetano and a group of talented associates will perform at Zappeion Hall on Friday, January 31.

The critically acclaimed Plissken Festival, hailed for its line-up choices, returns to the Greek capital's Technopolis cultural center with 34 artists covering a wide range of contemporary music styles, from indie to soul-funk, electronica and synthwave pop.

Austrian lawyer-turned-musician Waldeck will take the stage at Athens's Fuzz Club on Friday, March 15, with an upbeat program of cerebral music that blends downtempo electronica, swing from the 1920s and 30s, funk, dub, tango and trip-hop.

The eighth edition of the genre-defying Plissken Festival is taking place at the Piraeus Academy on Saturday, December 8, with a diverse lineup of music acts, including German electronic dance DJ David August in his first ever appearance in Greece. Other acts include Norway's New Disco pioneer Pantha Du Prince and British ambient electronica sensation Nathan Fake.

German artists Erol Sarp, a trained jazz pianist, and Lucas Vogel, a technician who constructs synthesizers, create a sound that combines classical composition with modern, experimental production and sound design.

One of the world's most popular chill-out, dub and trip-hop acts is coming to Greece for one show on Friday, June 16, as part of the capital's Release Festival. Thievery Corporation will play popular tracks from their 10 existing albums, as well as new material at Plateia Nerou (Water Square) on Athens's southern coast.
