Wednesday’s Covid-19 count up 6% w/w

Ljubljana – A further 1,738 people tested positive for coronavirus in Slovenia on Wednesday, an increase of 6% from the same day a week ago in a potential indication that the spread in transmissions may be slowing down. However, a public health official has projected that infections will keep rising for the next four weeks.

Domestic output met 83% of Slovenia’s electricity demand in 2021

Ljubljana – Slovenia’s electricity output dropped by over 8% last year while consumption rose by 3%. The country’s output met 83% of its needs, down by almost 10 percentage points from the year before but on a par with pre-pandemic years, a report from the Energy Agency shows. The output-to-consumption rate fell to 82.9% in 2021 from 92.6% in 2020.

Opponents of Covid restriction changes to collect signatures in autumn

OECD recommends Slovenia to address inflation, implement reforms

Covid cases keep rising, but hospital figures low

Ljubljana – Slovenia is in the midst of a growing new wave of Covid with the latest statistics showing cases steadily rising, even as hospital figures continue to decline. A total of 461 cases were confirmed over the weekend, more than double the figure recorded last weekend. One person with Covid died, Health Ministry data show.

Effective work accounts for 69% of working time in Slovenia

Ljubljana – In 2020 Slovenian employees spent 68.7% of their available working time effectively working, while absence from work accounted for 26.9% of their working time and meal breaks 4.4%, the Statistics Office has reported. The effective working time of employees in Slovenia amounted to 69% in the private sector and 67% in the public sector.
