Ljubljana – In accordance with Article 27 of the Media Act, the STA hereby publishes a presentation of contrary facts concerning the 10 June news item “Media reveal deals with Covid ventilators included kickbacks” as requested via their legal counsel by MD-DX and Marko Bitenc.
C-bank substantially upgrades GDP growth forecast for 2022
Ljubljana – Banka Slovenije has upgraded its economic growth forecast for Slovenia by 1.8 percentage points from its December outlook to 5.8% for this year as a result of a carry-over from last year. It downgraded the projection for 2023 by 0.9 points to 2.4%. Inflation is projected to run at 9% this year before easing to 4.5% and 2.3% over the next two years.
Digital vouchers available as of today
Ljubljana – Digital vouchers worth 150 euros are available as of today for students from 7th grade of primary school through to university. The vouchers can be used to purchase computer hardware and were introduced under an act on digital inclusion passed in February.

Coronavirus case count up 18% in a week
Ljubljana – As many as 561 new coronavirus cases were logged in Slovenia on Monday, a weekly rise of 18%, shows data released by the Health Ministry on Tuesday. Twenty-seven patients were hospitalised due to Covid-19 and another five were in intensive care, while one patient died.

Survey shows Slovenian online stores increasingly popular
Ljubljana – Online shopping has retained the popularity gained during the Covid-19 pandemic with three out of four of those questioned in a survey commissioned by Mastercard Slovenija saying they shop online at least sometimes. A growing number make their purchases at Slovenian sites.
Covid case count up to almost 460
Ljubljana – As many as 458 new coronavirus cases were logged in Slovenia on Monday, a weekly rise of 78, while there were no deaths, the data released by the Health Ministry shows. The number of persons hospitalised due to Covid-19 dropped by 5 to 21 from Sunday to Monday, and another four persons were in intensive care, the same as on Sunday.

Iskratel happy with 2021 results given situation
Kranj – Telecoms equipment maker Iskratel reported EUR 98.4 million in revenue for 2021, up 5.5% year-on-year. “Our business result was positive in what was a really challenging period,” Iskratel CEO Robert Kuzmič has told the STA. In light of developments at home and around the world, the group is satisfied with the results despite not having achieved the initial plans.

NBI boss confirms charges filed over Covid emergency procurement
Ljubljana – Petra Grah Lazar, director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), has confirmed for the news portal Siol that the bureau has referred to the prosecution a criminal complaint in an abuse of office investigation into the purchases of personal protective equipment and ventilators during the early stages of the Covid-19 epidemic.
