Two ISIL suspects sought with red notice detained
Turkish police have detained three foreign ISIL suspects, including two sought by Interpol with red notice in the capital Ankara.
According to Demirören News Agency, police detected two ISIL suspects, identified only with the initials A.N. and C.V., in Ankara and caught both in an operation on June 19.

Death toll from avalanche in Hakkari province rises to 2
The body of another soldier trapped by the avalanche in southeastern Turkey was recovered on Dec. 28, raising the death toll from the incident to two.
The avalanche hit the site on Sunday while soldiers were working to clear snow off a road near a military base in the Şemdinli district of Hakkari province.
Defense chief visits SE province amid blast
Turkey's defense minister on Nov 9 visited southeastern Hakkari province where at least 25 soldiers were injured by an accidental explosion of defective ammunition.
Hulusi Akar was accompanied by Turkish Chief of General Staff Yaşar Güler and the commander of Turkish Land Forces Ümit Dündar.
Akar visited the soldiers at Hakkari State Hospital.

17 guards injured in military vehicle crash in Turkey's southeast
Seventeen village guards were injured on April 5 when a military vehicle rolled over in the Şemdinli district of the southeastern province of Hakkari, state-run Anadolu Agency reported, citing a security source.

PKK militants kill three migrants in eastern Turkey
Outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants killed three migrants on Sept. 25 and injured seven others, one critically, in the eastern province of Ağrı, according to a military source.
Attackers opened fire on a minibus carrying migrants who had entered Turkey via an illegal route in Ağrı's Doğubayazıt district, according to the source.

One person was killed while five others were wounded in an attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) on Syrian migrants in the Şemdinli district of the southeastern province of Hakkari on Sept. 25.
Turkish jets destroy PKK hideouts in northern Iraq
Turkish jets have destroyed weapon depots and hideouts used by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement on Sept. 24.
It said warplanes carried out an airstrike in the Gara region on Sept. 23 and destroyed arms and ammunition depots used by PKK militants.

Soldier, worker killed in PKK attack in Turkey's Hakkari
Police officer killed in clash with PKK in Turkey's Hakkari
A police officer was killed during a clash between security forces and outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the southeastern province of Hakkari on Aug. 6, the governor's office confirmed in a statement.
The clash in the Şemdinli district also injured another officer, said the statement, adding that the injured police officer was taken to the Hakkari State Hospital.
