French president to visit Serbia "before summer"

According to a statement from the Serbian president's press service, they spoke about bilateral relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting held on a boat that took high-ranking guests from the Elysee Palace to the Seguin Island for the One Planet summit on climate change, Macron informed Vucic he would visit Serbia before the summer of 2018.

Speaking for RTS, he commented on Monday's opening of two new two chapters in Serbia's EU membership negotiations.

Vucic sees participation in the summit as an opportunity to meet with the French president who is at the moment one of the two most important political figures in Europe and is influential in the world.

Macron writes to Vucic, confirms visit to Serbia

"Relations between the two states are based on friendly, ancient and deep ties, marked very strongly by brotherhood in arms, which united the two nations during the First World War, and consolidated our friendship," Macron wrote in the letter, quoted by the office of the president who earlier in the day received France's new ambassador to Serbia Frederic Mondoloni, the agency said.

Head of State Rumen Radev will take part in the summit "One planet", dedicated to climate change, which will be held on December 12 in Paris, reported BGNES. 

The Bulgarian President will present our country to the high-level forum at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and World Bank President Jim Yong Kim.

Vucic announces sudden trip to Paris, meeting with Macron

Vucic announced this during a press conference in Belgrade on Monday morning, saying that he did not have much time, among other things, because of the said meeting with Macron.

The meeting is not even included in the schedule of the French president published on the official website of the presidential palace.
