A court in Turkey has ordered an employer to pay financial compensation after allegedly firing a woman citing to “low performance stemming from her pregnancy.”
More than 60% of the Companies will Give out Bonuses for Christmas
About 64% of employers plan to offer Christmas bonuses to their employees, 21% will not provide such bonuses, and 15% have not yet decided. This shows a poll conducted among members of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).
The consultation was carried out between 22-29 November 2017.
Concern over new labor bill's rules
A Labor Ministry bill expected to be voted into law next week will result in new obligations and binding timetables for all enterprises.

Greek hospital doctors protest working conditions
The Federation of Greek Hospital Doctors' Unions (OENGE) has filed a legal notice to the Health Ministry over not being able to take the days off from work they are entitled to and the amount of overtime they are forced to put in.
In scathing remarks, the federation said doctors were denied leave on a variety of pretenses.

37,667 Greeks lost their jobs in November 2016
Roughly 37.667 salaried jobs were lost in the private sector in November 2016 according to the information system ERGANI, in what is considered the worst employment performance of the last five years, with more layoffs than hirings.
