Djedovic meets with Lorkowski

BELGRADE - Work on an integrated national energy and climate plan and a strategy of energy sector development is in the final phase and their adoption is due by the end of the year, Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic said at a meeting with Energy Community Secretariat Director Artur Lorkowski on Tuesday.

The Permanent Representative Committee of the governments of Member States approved the provisional agreement reached by the Romanian presidency of the Council of the European Union with the European Parliament on the Natural Gas Directive, with the next step being the adoption of the Directive by the European Parliament, the Ministry of Energy announced on Thursday.

Bulgaria, Macedonia Mull Coupling Day-Ahead Electricity Markets

Bulgaria and Macedonia are considering a move to couple their day-ahead electricity markets, energy news provider ICIS says.

Konstantin Konstantinov, CEO at the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX), is quoted as saying he hopes to sign a preliminary contract with Macedonia by the beginning of February.  

Antic: Serbia determined not to "waste energy"

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic on Wednesday opened the third Renexpo Western Balkans international fair and conference on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, noting that Serbia is determined not to "waste energy" and that it particularly cares about renewable energy sources.
