COP28: US Announced International Fusion Plan

Special climate envoy and former US secretary of state John Kerry unveiled and announced the launch of an international plan to boost fusion, saying the emission-free technology could become a vital tool in the fight against climate change.

To begin with, the plan is supported by 35 nations and will focus on research and development, supply chain issues, regulation and safety.

Japan to stop building 'unabated' coal plants: PM

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has vowed to stop building new coal-fired power plants that lack measures to cut carbon emissions.

New package of energy support measures ahead

The government will unveil a package of measures this autumn to support vulnerable households, families with more than three children and people living in areas of higher energy needs who are forced to spend a significant part of their income on energy, Environment and Energy Minister Thodoros Skylakakis said in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.

Helleniq clinches subsidies for energy storage

Helleniq Renewables has succeeded in obtaining investment subsidies for three energy storage facilities in its Thessaloniki facilities, with a total power of 100 MW.

The facilities will be connected to the national power grid and their operation licenses are for 25 years.

Investment in the three facilities will be subsidized to the tune of €200,000 per MW.
