Turkey’s zero waste project wins UN global action award

Turkey's zero waste project has won the UN Development Program Turkey's first (UNDP) Global Goals Action Award.

"The project will receive UNDP Turkey's Sustainable Development Goals Action Award due to its important contributions to the goal Responsible Production and Consumption, one of the Sustainable Development Goals," the UNDP Turkey said in a statement.

First community solar array in Slovenia launched

Ajdovščina – The Ajdovščina municipality in western Slovenia has set up the first community solar array for local electricity supply. Seven households are involved.

The pilot project by energy group Gen-I and the municipality uses the roof of a public facility, a primary school in the village of Budanje, to supply electricity to seven buildings.

Mytilineos buys solar energy project in Andalusia

Mytilineos on Monday announced the acquisition of a 50-megawatt solar energy project in Spain (the Jaén photovoltaic project) from Viridi RE.

The project is located in the Municipality of Jaén (Andalusia), an area with significant sunshine in southeastern Spain.

It is ready for construction, which is planned for the first quarter of 2021.
