Fire raging near Loutraki
Dozens of firefighters were sent to tackle a large fire that broke out on Saturday afternoon near the seaside resort town of Loutraki, 81 kilometers west of Athens.
Eye-witnesses told Kathimerini some of the smoke has reached the town and that the fire appears to be near the Monastery of Aghios Patapios, located on a mountain behind the town.

Fire service examining indications of arson in Evia blaze
As efforts to tackle a big forest fire at a nature reserve on the island of Evia continued for a fourth day on Friday, authorities were examining indications that the ongoing blaze was caused by arson.
Mt Hymettus fire possiby the result of a short circuit
A large fire that began after midnight Sunday in the eastern Athens suburb of Paiania had raced up the slopes of Mt Hymettus and reached its peak before it was brought under control Monday morning. The fire damaged radio station installations in the area. Concerns have been raised by the possibility that it could have been caused by a short circuit in the cables of Public Power Corporation.

Coastal resort town in Attica evacuated due to fire
Municipal authorities evacuated the seaside residential town of Lagonisi in southwestern Attica on Saturday after a fire broke out in the area shortly after 1 p.m.
The fire service said the blaze was burning dry grass and bushe, adding "there is no immediate danger" for the houses in the area. A large unit of 30 firemen were dispatched along with two water-dropping aircraft.

Fire at a School in Plovdiv
Fire has been burning at the Kliment Ohridski Primary School in Plovdiv. The fire broke out early in the morning on Tuesday.
There are no injuries, the fire is controlled. The fire has begun from a student room that has burnt. There are also dameges in the school's toilets, bTV reports.
