Croatian Politicians Arrive in BiH to 'Protect Croats' from Bosniaks

BELGRADE - Following the controversial Republika Srpska referendum, elections in Bosnia and Hercegovina have again raised tensions after allegations of vote-rigging and physical attacks.

Croatian politicians have arrived in Bosnia and Hercegovina in a show of support for Bosnian Croats living there.

Bosnians Urged to Vote as Local Polls Open

More than 5,000 polling stations opened Sunday at 7am as voters were urged to go out and cast ballots in Bosnia's local elections.

"There is no reason why, on October 2, you shouldn't take a small amount of time to go to the polling station and circle the option that suits you," Ahmed Santic, president of the Central Election Commission, CIK, told the media.

Vucic concerned over threat to peace

NEW YORK - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic, who is attending a UNGA session in New York, is very concerned over a threat to peace made by Bosnia and Herzegovina wartime military commander Sefer Halilovic.

Vucic has not ruled out the possibility of returning to Serbia sooner than planned if that is required by the situation, a source in the Serbian delegation told Tanjug.

Serb entity in Bosnia "never in greater danger" - Dodik

RS President Milorad Dodik said in Belgrade on Tuesday that the Serb entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina "has never been in greater danger of disappearing."

The post-war Bosnia-Herzegovina has two entities - the Serb Republic (Republika Srpska; RS), and the Muslim-Croat Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina (FBiH).

Bosnia Urged to Use Property Seized From Criminals

Bosnia needs to better regulate the destination of property seized as a consequence of criminal activities, experts say, arguing that this would also have a positive impact in the fight against organised crime.

While no law defines this issue at national level, laws exists at the level of the country's two entities, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.
