Bulgaria To Consider Lowering Of Highway Speed Limit

Experts are considering the lowering of the maximum speed on highways from 140 km/h to 130 km/h, as it was until recently.

At the double highway pile up on Trakia highway on Monday, most of the cars were driving at 140 km/h. The high speed, combined with the thick fog in the area caused the crash of 21 cars. Two people were killed and 15 were injured.

8.2-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Northern Chile, at least 5 Dead

A powerful magnitude-8.2 earthquake struck off Chile's northern coast late Tuesday, triggering landslides and a tsunami and killing at least five.

Chilean Interior Minister Rodrigo Penailillo, as cited by the CNN, informed that the death toll included four men and one woman, two of whom had died due to cardiac arrest and three had been crushed to death.

WB content with progress of transport projects in Serbia

BELGRADE - Officials of the World Bank have met with Serbia's Minister of Transport in the outgoing government Aleksandar Antic and said they are satisfied with the progress of projects meant to improve the transport infrastructure in Serbia.

The World Bank mission was in Serbia from March 17 to 28 and met with Antic at the end of their visit.

5.1 Earthquake Jolts California, Possible Aftershocks

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on the Richter scale has shaken Southern California on Friday evening.

There are no reported major damages, though several residents suffered slight injuries from falling objects, according to the Los Angeles Times. The epicenter of the tremor was in Orange County, one mile east of La Habra, and in close proximity to Los Angeles.

Highway at Vale of Tempe closed on Tuesday and Wednesday


The Vale of Tempe will closed on Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. as regular maintenance work is carried out on the wire netting protecting that stretch of the national highway from rockfalls.

Vehicles will not be allowed on the stretch of highway from the Gyrtoni junction to the Stomio intersection between those times.
