Dozens of foreign tourists on lockdown at campsite in Drepano, northern Greece
Dozens of foreign tourists are in quarantine at a campsite in Drepano, in the northern Greek prefecture of Thesprotia, as part of measures to ward against the spread of the coronavirus.
The campsite hosts 41 tourists from different countries in Europe who started a tour of Greece in December in their caravans and now find themselves stranded in Epirus amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
ELTA releases first stamp series of 2020
"Ancient Greek Theaters" is the title of the first series of stamps issued by Hellenic Post (ELTA) in 2020.
The series is the first to be released in conditions of global and strict quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The new commemorative series consists of five stamps that reveal the rich cultural heritage of Epirus in northwestern Greece.

Hundreds of social distancing violations recorded in one day
The Hellenic Police (ELAS) recorded more than 1,900 violations of social distancing measures in just one day, it said on Thursday.
During nationwide inspections on Wednesday on individuals flouting regulations for stemming public circulation amid the coronavirus epidemic, ELAS officers reported a total of 1,916 violations.
City diplomacy
Ioannina Mayor Moses Elisaf has taken the baton from his former Thessaloniki counterpart Yiannis Boutaris in "city diplomacy," having recently conducted a series of important meetings in Albania as part of an initiative to promote his city and develop closer ties with the neighboring country.

Weather to take new turn of the worse
The weather is to take a new turn of the worse on Monday, according to the National Observatory of Athens (NOA) which has predicted a wet sweeping into the country from the Ionian, Epirus and the western mainland.
Stormy weather is also forecast for many parts of the country, including much of the mainland and the northern and eastern Aegean, according to the NOA.
