AnadoluJet goes global brand with international flights
AnadoluJet, a brand of Turkey's national flag carrier, will be a global carrier by launching several new international flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
The carrier, which operates only two international flights currently, will launch flights from Istanbul to 26 new destinations in 16 countries as of March, 29, the Turkish Airlines' brand announced on Jan. 14.
Lufthansa and Air France Halt Flights to Iran and Iraq
German airline giant Lufthansa said it has canceled flights to Iran and Iraq "until further notice" after Tehran fired missiles at US bases in Iraq, according to BGNES.
The daily Frankfurt-Tehran flight has been canceled. Saturday's twice-weekly service to northern Iraqi city Erbil would also not depart.
Turkish Deputy Consul-General killed in Erbil restaurant shooting FOTO
At least three Turkish diplomats including the deputy consul general were shot dead by unknown gunmen as they dined in the restaurant in Erbil, Reuters reports.
Turkish state media confirmed that one of the three killed diplomats is Turkish Deputy Consul-General in Erbil.
Turkish Foreign Affairs Ministry confirmed the shooting of one of the employees from Turkish Consulate.
Baghdad-Damascus flights to resume after 8 years
Flights between Baghdad and Damascus will resume on May 18 after an eight-year hiatus, Iraqi Airways said on May 16.

Iran re-opened two crossings with the Iraqi Kurdistan region on Tuesday that it had closed after a referendum in favor of independence in the Kurdish area, Reuters reported.

Turkey re-issues travel warning on Iraq
In a statement, the ministry said last December's advice applied to all of Iraq except the provinces of Dohuk, Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, which are controlled by the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
