An Afghan doctor who studied medicine in Türkiye has been awarded the "International Women of Courage Award" for her work with migrants.
Zakira Hekmat, the founder of the Afghan Refugees Solidarity Association, is a physician who has been working with migrants for 14 years.
Turkey working on six virus vaccine candidates
Turkey is supporting six projects on vaccine development against the coronavirus, including the one in the form of a nasal spray, the head of the Health Institutes of Turkey (TÜSEB) has said.
Two other vaccine projects' transaction processes are also ongoing, Erhan Akdoğan told Anadolu Agency.

Infections rise as Turkey resumes publishing all positive virus cases
The number of daily reported COVID-19 infections in Turkey jumped to above 28,000 on Nov. 25 after, in a surprise development, the government resumed publishing all positive cases and not just the number of patients being treated for symptoms of the coronavirus.
Explosion occurs in Turkey's Kayseri
An explosion has occurred in front of the entrance Erciyes University in Turkey's central province of Kayseri early on Dec. 17.
There were wounded people according to initial reports, Turkish broadcaster CNN Türk has reported.
Ambulances were sent to the area after the explosion.

At least 69 injured in bus crashes in central Turkey
At least 69 people have been injured in two separate bus crashes in central Turkey, the state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Some 14 people were injured after a passenger bus went off a road connecting Kayseri, a central province, and Malatya, an eastern province, early Feb. 7 because of heavy gusts and ice.
