Fenerbahce hooligans attack Panathinaikos fans ahead of EuroLeague in Berlin

Ahead of the EuroLeague Final Four in basketball on Friday at the Uber Arena in Berlin, clashes have been reported between Turkish hooligans and Greek fans.

Eyewitnesses told Kathimerini that about 100 Fenerbahce hooligans approached the venue as a bloc and broke through railings, while Panathinaikos fans, but also Olympiakos supporters, were waiting to enter the stands.

Final Four takes place in Berlin with Greek flavor

Basketball's EuroLeague Final Four begins on Friday at the Uber Arena in Berlin with the participation of two Greek powerhouses, Panathinaikos and Olympiakos.

Panathinaikos, guided by Turkish coach Ergin Ataman, will face Turkey's Fenerbahce, before Olympiacos goes head to head with defending champion Real Madrid in a rematch of last season's final.

2022 will be basketball year: Sports minister

Türkiye is hopeful to achieve successes in two major basketball tournaments and sees 2022 as a basketball year, the country's Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu has said.

Visiting the Turkish national basketball team's camp, the minister congratulated the team members upon the upcoming match on July 3.
