Turkish sprinter finishes second in Diamond League
Turkish sprinter Yasmani Copello Escobar finished second in the men's 400-meter hurdle in the season's first race in the Diamond League.
The 33-year-old Cuban native finished the race in 49:04 seconds.
Norwegian Karsten Warholm broke the tape in 47:10 seconds.
In the men's 200-meter race, Turkey's Ramil Guliyev finished fifth in 20.80 seconds.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdağ joked that he watched the popular TV series “Narcos,” which portrays the life of Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar, to gain knowledge on the fight against drugs, as he commented on Turkey’s anti-narcotic efforts.
Turkish sprinter wins silver at World Athletics Championships
Yasmani Copello Escobar of Turkey won silver in the men's 400 meter hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in London on Aug. 9, giving his country its first medal at this year's competition.
Escobar finished in a time of 48.49 seconds, behind Norway's Karsten Warholm who took gold in 48.35 seconds.
