Russian musician turns to east after war broke out

Russian songs resonate throughout the streets in the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir as 24-year-old Ivan Reznichenko plays his guitar to earn his daily bread.

He was paying a visit to a friend in Turkey's southwestern resort town of Bodrum when Russian troops entered into Ukrainian territories on Feb. 24.

Country’s west hit by downpours

A wave of cold weather from the Balkans entered the country from the west late on Feb. 1, causing heavy precipitation in many provinces on Feb. 2.

Some 400,000 people visit Turkey's first indigenous car

Some 400,000 people have visited the nation's first indigenous car named "Devrim," which means "Revolution" in English, since March 2018 in a museum in the northwestern province of Eskişehir, where it is on display.

The 60-year-old car, which had adorned the museum's garden in the open air for years amusing onlookers, has been on display inside a glass block for three years.

Chinese white goods producer invests 85 mln euros in Turkey’s Eskişehir

China-based home appliances producer Haier has established a factory in the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir, Haier Europe CEO Yannick Fierling said in a press meeting on Oct. 24.

The total of the investment will rise from its initial level of 40 million euros to 85 million euros next year to create 1,600 jobs., the company executives said.

TransAnatolia rally kicks off with a ceremonial start

TransAnatolia, Turkey's only cross-country rally, kicked off on Sept. 11 with a ceremonial start held in the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir.

Dozens of local and international racers, including Andreo Rossi, Michael Schafer and Erik Klomp, are competing at the event that will end on Sept. 18.

People lived up to 40 years of age 5,000 years ago

Archaeological excavations at the Küllüoba Mound, which dates back to the first Bronze Age in the Seyitgazi district of the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir, have unearthed more than 40 burial sites, including women and children, and research has found that people lived there an average life of 40 years 5,000 years ago.

‘Kybele’ staged at historical temple

The world premiere of the play 'Kybele,' adapted from Güngör Dilmen's work 'I am Anadolu,' was held at the Yazılıkaya Open Air Temple of Midas Monument, which was built by the Phrygian civilization 6,000 years ago in the Han district of the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir and is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
