Eternal flame

June 22 marks the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Soviet Union's 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War against Nazi Germany.

There are memorials across Serbia and Kosovo to commemorate hundreds of people who died during NATO's 78-day bombing campaign against Yugoslavia, which began on March 24, 1999 and is being marked with an official commemoration in Belgrade on Wednesday evening.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vui, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, visited the Temple of Saint Sava in Vraar, where they laid flowers on the grave of the recently deceased Patriarch Irinej.

The first-ever Pride March passed off peacefully in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after starting Sunday at noon. After the participants gathered in front of the Eternal Flame, a well-known memorial dedicated to victims of World War II, a few hundred people marched through Tito Street, Sarajevo's main street, and ended in front of the state-level parliament.

BELGRADE - Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov and representatives of the Serbian and Russian railway companies laid wreaths on Tuesday at the Eternal Flame memorial in Belgrade, dedicated to the victims of the 1999 NATO bombing campaign.
