Over 2,200 irregular migrants apprehended
More than 2,200 irregular migrants were caught and over 1,000 were deported between Jan. 6 and 12, the Directorate of Migration Management has announced.
"Between Jan. 6 and 12, 2,269 irregular migrants were caught, and 2,321 irregular migrants were deported. The deportation proceedings of 19,968 foreigners continue," the directorate tweeted.

Ombudsman finds foreign students discriminated against in subsidised housing
The Equal Opportunities Ombudsman recommended to the Ministry of education, Science and Sport to change the higher education act following an analysis that found the act discriminates against foreign students in subsidised housing.

Greek human rights ombudsman on visit to Slovenia
Ljubljana – Human Rights Ombudsman Peter Svetina has met Greek counterpart Andreas I. Pottakis, who heads Europe’s section at the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI), as part of hos visit to Slovenia. Pottakis has also been received by President Borut Pahor, Svetina’s office said in a press release on Wednesday.
