Greece's anti-terrorism service detained 26 people and seized heavy weaponry including anti-tank arms in a large, ongoing counterterrorism operation in central Athens on Thursday to dismantle a suspected far-leftist militant group, police sources cited by state-run news agency ANA-MPA said.

Authorities in Kurdish-controlled areas in Syria have accused Turkey of using unconventional weapons such as white phosphorus and napalm during its offensive in the northern areas of the country, AFP reported.

The agency says it has failed to independently verify these allegations against Ankara forces or Syrian fighters who support them.

Turkey agreed to pause its offensive in Syria for five days to let Kurdish forces withdraw from a "safe zone" Ankara had sought to capture, in a deal hailed by the Trump administration and cast by Turkey as a complete victory.

"Turkey will continue the military operation in Syria until the terrorists are completely eliminated. The territorial integrity of Syria will be preserved," Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said, quoted by RIA Novosti.

Second day of Turkish offensive against Syrian Kurds. Dozens of strategic goals have been hit, including power lines and oilfields.

According to Turkish President Erdogan, more than 100 Kurdish troops have been killed in the past two days. Civilian casualties were reported on both sides of the border.
