Serbian Women’s Basketball Team Win European Championship
The Serbian team defeated France 63-54 in the Women's EuroBasket final in Valencia in Spain on Sunday to win the European championship for a second time, after a six-year gap.
France had been widely tipped as likely winners, but Serbia's coach Marina Maljkovic said after the victory that her team deserved the trophy.
Serbia has been crowned FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 Champions!
Serbia was dominant during most of the match, with only sporadic ups and downs.
After the first quarter, the basketball players of Serbia played great in the defense in the second half and reached a double-digit advantage with a series of 13: 0 (31:18).
Slovenia to host EuroBasket Women 2023
Ljubljana – Slovenia will host the 2023 European Women Basketball Championship, with two groups of the preliminary round to be played in Celje and Koper, and the elimination round in the capital of Ljubljana, the executive committee of FIBA Europe decided on Friday.

Turkey qualifies for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021
Turkey qualified for the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 as one of the five best second-place teams, the Turkish Basketball Federation announced on Feb. 6.
Turkey moved to the finals with a second-place finish in Group E after losing twice to Serbia and claiming two victories against Lithuania.
EuroBasket 2021 will be co-hosted by France and Spain between June 17 and 27.

Turkish women secure spot in 2016 FIBA Olympic qualifiers
Turkey's Women's National Team defeated Russia 68-66 in overtime on June 27 in Buda-pest to finish EuroBasket Women 2015 in fifth place and secure a spot in the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
The qualifying tournament will take place next summer at a location to be determined.
