Reds and Greens fail to meet expectations

Olympiakos missed the chance to clinch the top spot of the Euroleague table for the regular season, going down on Thursday at Red Star Belgrade, while Panathinaikos lost to visiting Alba Berlin in Athens on Friday.

Despite leading in the first half, Olympiakos went down 87-79 at Red Star Belgrade, but it's still tied with Real Madrid at the top of the table, with a 23-10 record.

Big night for Olympiakos against Real Madrid in Euroleague

Olympiakos recaptured the summit of the Euroleague table through an emphatic home win over hitherto leader Real Madrid on Friday. Panathinaikos, in turn, suffered one more defeat on the road on Thursday, this time at Virtus Bologna.

This was a night of triumph for Olympiakos at the Peace and Friendship Stadium as it defeated Real 73-60 in front of a capacity crowd.

Brave road win for the Reds, victory at last for the Greens

Both Olympiakos and Panathinaikos made up for their Tuesday losses with two-point victories in hard fought matches in the Euroleague on Thursday and Friday respectively.

The Reds scored their 12th win in 19 games, beating Virtus Bologna 85-83 in Italy despite fielding a rather depleted team.
