Euroleague shows not all defeats are the same
Panathinaikos and Olympiakos had two very different defeats on Thursday and Friday, as the Greens suffered a bad 31-point loss at home to CSKA Moscow, while the Reds fought hard before succumbing to leader Anadolu Efes in Turkey by 12.
CSKA beat Panathinaikos 97-66 on Thursday in Athens in what hardly seemed to be the battle between the fifth and the sixth at the table.

Real Madrid far too strong for the Greens
Panathinaikos tried to match Real Madrid in Spain on Monday but its host was a class apart and won easily 96-78 in the end, at a game played four days earlier for the Euroleague's 26th round.

Olympiakos appears to be CSKA's perennial nemesis
Greece's representatives in the Euroleague put two over Russia's on Greek soil, as depleted Olympiakos stunned CSKA once again and Panathinaikos saw off Zenit.
Olympiakos should be officially considered the European champion's jinx team, as CSKA Moscow lost another game to its perennial nemesis, with a 72-59 score on Thursday at the Peace and Friendship Stadium.

Anadolu Efes extend winning streak with Zalgiris defeat
Turkey's Anadolu Efes extended their winning streak to nine games in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague by beating Lithuanian team Zalgiris Kaunas 96-91 Feb. 6 in Istanbul.
EuroLeague leaders Anadolu Efes earned their 21st win this season, losing only three games.
