European Council President Donald Tusk proposed a meeting of EU Heads of State and Government and the Western Balkans on 17 May next year in Sofia. This is part of a list of proposals for the work program of the European Council by mid-2019.

Tusk: Inside, outside forces trying to destabilise W. Balkans
BRUSSELS - It is clear to all that there are "inside and outside forces" trying to destabilise the Western Balkan region, European Council President Donald Tusk said at the conclusion of a two-day Brussels summit of EU leaders.
"We are not naive - that is why leaders reaffirmed the unequivocal support for the countries in the Western Balkans and their European perspective," he said.
