Paris museum numbers recover but still hit by pandemic
With Asian visitors still largely absent, major Paris museums struggled to regain pre-pandemic numbers in 2022, despite a huge recovery from the previous year, official figures showed on Jan. 5.
The Louvre, the world's most visited museum, welcomed 7.8 million people last year, a 170-percent increase on 2021, but still down 19 percent on 2019.
Over 21,000 foreign students receive education in Antalya
More than 21,000 international students from 92 countries are receiving education in the southern province of Antalya, a tourism hotspot that is becoming a preferred choice for foreigners looking to move out.

Veteran journalist Kıvanç dies at 97
Famous veteran Turkish journalist Halit Kıvanç died at the age of 97 on Oct. 25.
The death of Kıvanç, one of the country's most well-known sports commentators, was announced by his son Ümit Kıvanç in a Twitter post. "The funeral will be held in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery on Oct. 27," he said.

The Russians are not retreating: "We stopped them and captured them"
They managed to thwart an attempt by Ukrainian troops to break through the defense line near the Inhulets River.
"An attempt to break through the defense line was repelled along the Andrejevka axis in the area of the Inhulec River. So, everything is under control," he announced in a video posted on the Telegram social network.

Vučić on United Group's decision: "Scandalous"
President Aleksandar Vui said that as far as he is personally concerned, that decision is "scandalous".
"I think I understand why they're doing it. They're doing it to kick out Prva, then B92. I think they want to kick out Happy, too. I don't know which broadcasters will remain on air on that cable channel. They're doing it to artificially boost Nova S and N1's ratings.
